Who is Wine Buddy?
Wine Buddy is an independent on-line wine merchant based in Cheshire. It was established by Allan Dickson, the original Wine Buddy, in 2008 with one main aim - to do everything we possibly can to make easy for you to buy wine that you think tastes tremendous.
To help in this we have made the website as simple to follow and to shop as possible allowing you to shop by whatever method you prefer: By colour, by country, by grape, by price and even by taste sensation. And we try not to complicate what should be, by rights, a simple subject by avoiding loads of wine-buff terminology.
The primary quality control in selection rests with Wine Buddy who with years of wine tasting experience makes sure that no wine will ever make it into the cellar unless Wine Buddy likes the taste of it in the first place.
We also offer all the stuff that you would expect from a quality on-line wine merchant. Whether that's letting you search for the wine of your dreams by whatever way might tickle your fancy to having your fabulous new wine delivered to any door across the country.

How do I search for wine on www.wine-buddy.com?
There are two main ways open to you.
You can use the Wine Selector in the top left hand side of every page. Choose to search using any, some or all of the six search options (You can write in a keyword or you can choose by Taste Preference, by Colour, by Dominant Grape, by Country or by Price Range). Where your multiple selections do not come up with a 100% best match Wine Buddy will suggest wines based upon your selections most closely linked to taste in the first instance. In the unlikely event of a zero match, Wine Buddy kindly asks you to search again.
Or you can go to the Buy Wine page and search for wine in any of the nine ways we have there.
How does the "Discover your taste preference" tool work?
Every one of Wine Buddy's taste categories from Clean, pure, dry whites to Fortified wine have a combination of tastes and aromas that help differentiate them from one another.
By deciding which tastes and aromas you like best Wine Buddy can then match them to the taste category that is closest to the taste preferences you supplied and take you straight there.
How do I order?
You can do it one of two ways:

Is there a minimum purchase?
Individual wines are purchased in multiples of six.
This is so that we can pursue our desire to offer you lower prices than you would obtain on the High Street for the same wine.
It's also because the most secure packaging we have found comes in multiples of six. This not only allows your wine to arrive safely it also helps to minimise the transport costs that Wine Buddy has to pass onto you.
For wine gifts the minimum purchase is one. This is the same for our mixed cases too.
Can I include personalised messages with my order?
Of course you can - just fill in the Personalised Message section at checkout.
You can use them for anything you buy from Wine Buddy. They are great to include with Wine Buddy's mixed cases, your wine selections and especially with Wine Buddy's Wooden Gift Boxes.
Tell me about Wine Buddy's deliveries
Wine Buddy offers a 2 to 5 day delivery service.
Our carriers do not leave the wine unattended outside if they cannot make delivery to the address provided by you at checkout. In such instances, they will post a card through the door giving you the option of picking up from the local office or have it re-delivered.
Due to the cost structure operated by the package carriers there are different tariff bands depending upon where you live in the UK:

Wine Buddy does not deliver to addresses outside the United Kingdom for purchases made on the Wine Buddy website. Should you wish a delivery outside the United Kingdom please get in touch with Wine Buddy by any of the methods on the "Contact Us" page.
How secure is the Wine Buddy site?
The only details that Wine Buddy holds about you is your e-mail and personal addresses that you give when you register on the site. The website is hosted on the server of a web hosting company who employ up-to-date security measures.
Wine Buddy does not hold any of your credit card details. Your payments are all processed by RBS WorldPay. WorldPay is part of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
How environmentally friendly is Wine Buddy's packaging?
The only packaging used by Wine Buddy are cardboard boxes and wooden gift boxes.
Critical to us when we were looking for packaging suppliers was their ability to show us that their product came from sustainable sources.
Our cardboard boxes are sourced from a supplier who uses either recycled material or material with a high recycled content. All our cardboard is recyclable.
Our wooden gift boxes come from a supplier who obtains the majority of its wood from companies who conform to international standards and supply them with Forest Stewardship Council certificates to verify forestry management and chain of custody.
Every time we order some packaging from our supplier they plant a tree on our behalf in a forest near Bordeaux.
We were unable to find a supplier to guarantee that their product came from 100% sustainable supply sources but we think we've come pretty close to our goal and are committed to getting even better.
